I think that is the most popular joke in any economics department, most economists are in the Stephen harper Range, your above/average middle class person. It is not as though Stephen Harper was a poor guy or something. His bank account may have been a couple zero's short of Paul Martin's but, PM PM was one of the richest leaders in the western world. Nobody said that economist's were rich .... at least nobody who had any facts to support their claim. Most economists are very rich? Ya last time I checked economists are normally not rich unless they are in the top of their field. Much like any other industry. Put it this way, if I thought I was going to be rich upon graduating with two degrees (one economics), I wouldn't be considering a career with the RCMP (financial crimes and the such of course ). Being a cop pays more than some economics jobs, if you can believe that. Last time I checked most cops weren't incrediably rich. Believe me, they don't make much. Theres nothing in this Sam, sorry.
