Shady Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 As every logical person has come to realize, the current federal government doesn't deserve anyone's vote, let alone another feeding at the public trough. On monday I'm going to proudly vote Conservative without any guilt or reservation, unlike others who may have to hold their nose while voting Liberal. If you have to hold your nose, are you really doing the right thing? Of course not. And most people have already realized this fact. I have many friends and relatives who have voted Liberal for most of their lives, who, come monday will be switching their vote to Conservative or NDP candidates. Monday is going to be a glorious day, for I feel it will restore my faith in this great country. Quote
crazymf Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I also am voting Conservative for the following reasons: 1. The party has the same name as the one Ralph leads in Alberta. 2. I'm against gay marriage. 3. I don't think the Liberals were brought to justice on Adscam and Martin is lying about his lack knowledge of it. 4. I don't need any more reasons than that. Montgomery Burns Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I already voted--Conservative--at an advance poll. I went last Saturday at suppertime and surprisingly, there was a line up of about 8-10 people. I have a feeling there will be a good voter turnout this election--which bodes well for the CP. Biblio Bibuli Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I have a feeling there will be a good voter turnout this election. I agree. 64 to 66% is my guess. Canuck Monk Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I will be voting Conservative because: 1. Free vote on same-sex marriage 2. Reduce the GST to 5% 3. Boost up our military 4. Elected Senate Quote

Melanie_ Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Crazymf, even though I rarely agree with you, I'm glad to see you back. I appreciate your perspective, and your sense of humour! I'm voting Liberal tomorrow - go Reg Alcock! Quote For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others. Nelson Mandela
Boru Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I will be voting CPC - We need young blood [time to put the old boys out to pasture ] and they are the best alternative. I agree with the Liberal party being unfit to govern. Paul Martin is a goof. ( To put it mildly) I can't stand how he attacks Harper for his ideology when it's one Martin has himself been associated with his entire political career , leading up to his party leadership that is... Now he's morphed into a man of the people...champion for human and social rights...yaddayaddayadda... He's quite the contrast to his father isn't he? His father a strong advocate for public health care, and now his son... Anyways, that being said, my vote goes to NDP. I am not voting NDP because I feel they would be a credible alternative for governing, but a very legitimate candidate for a good opposition. Let's face it, the CPC is the most Conservative minded party Canada will ever have elected. The Canadian Alliance did swallow the PC after all... So, a strong dissenting voice will be necessary to keep them accountable. If there was still a Progressive Conservative Party, they would surely get my vote. The current version of that party is still in it's infancy and not a candidate for my vote yet. Quote

I was going to vote Liberal but although I can handle legalizing Polygamy and I can handle same sex marriage I just can't handle the next "progressive" Liberal/Dipper brain burp - same sex polygamist marriages so I think I'll vote PC. Besides, I'd like to see the Liberal Adscam scumbags put in jail and a Governor General who hasn't once worked for the Liberal propaganda machine - His excellancy the right honerable Preston Manning GG of Canada sounds good to me. (bold and italics mine) And that's why I just might vote NDP. I think the Liberal party would be alright under different leadership. Martin is too closely implicated with all the scandal nonsense, despite being essentially cleared, for voters comfort. Put in John Manley, or Brian Tobin, and it would be a different story. Quote
stignasty Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I won't be voting CPC tomorrow, but that doesn't matter much because 60% of the voters in this constituency will be. Actually, that's one of the reasons that I won't be voting Conservative. We have an MP who will be sitting on the back benches regardless of which side of the house his party occupies. That's who I'm not voting for. . . . I haven't quite decided who I will be voting for. The sad thing is that at this point all my vote means is that the party I give it to will get $1.75. Leader Circle Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I am voting Conservative for many reasons, but the one that is fresh in my mind is: John Duffy! I don't hate to many people, but if given the chance I would dig this prick's eyes out with a spoon!! I don't know why, but I just can't stand him and I hope the Liberal bus runs his stupid ass over! normanchateau Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Like most Vancouverites, I'm not voting Conservative and am pleased to see that thus far, every single poll indicates not a single Conservative will be elected in the largest city in Western Canada. I'm still amused at Harper's bizarre choice of Vancouver, of all places, to announce that he won't reintroduce decriminalization legislation because he favours jail time and criminal records for mere possession of a few grams of marijuana. It might be a vote getter in rural Canada, or even Calgary and Edmonton, but it's not in Vancouver. Quote

Hydraboss Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 One quick one before I go vote: Paul Martin and a CSIS agent are taking a stroll when they come upon a little girl carrying a basket with a blanket over it. Curious, Martin asks the girl, "What's in the basket?" She replies, "New baby kittens," and she opens the basket to show him. "How nice," says Martin. "What kind are they?" The little girl says, "Liberals." Martin smiles, pats the little girl on the head and continues on. Three weeks later, Martin is taking another stroll, this time with Jack Layton. They see the little girl again with the same basket. Martin says, "Watch this, Jack; it's really cute." They approach the little girl. He greets the little girl and says "How are the kittens doing? She says, "Fine." Then, smirking, he nudges Layton with his elbow and asks the little girl, "And can you tell us what kind of kittens they are?" She replies, "Conservatives." Abashed, Martin says, "But three weeks ago you said they were Liberals!" "I know," she says. "But now their little eyes are open."
