Canuck E Stan Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Dumont says don't vote Bloc The leader of the Action democratique du Quebec (ADQ) is urging Quebecers not to vote for the Bloc Quebecois.Mario Dumont, who leads the right-of-centre provincial party which holds five seats in Quebec, said he's not formally endorsing one party over another. However, he said he will cast his vote for Stephen Harper's Conservatives on Jan. 23. Dumont said the Bloc is like a millstone and only serves to limit Quebec's influence on Canada's national stage. The ADQ leader said the Bloc has not managed to get Quebec's interest onto the national agenda and has not been able to effect change in any concrete ways. Nice endorcement for Harper and the Conservatives.should add a few more votes. Biblio Bibuli Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Nice endorcement for Harper and the Conservatives.should add a few more votes. The last time I looked at your predictions you gave the CPC 3 seats in Quebec. Are you ready to bump it up? Most people say they'll get a handful there, whatever that means. Five fingers on my hand .... so I say 5! Quote When a true Genius appears in the World, you may know him by this Sign, that the Dunces are all in confederacy against him. - Jonathan Swift GO IGGY GO!
Canuck E Stan Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006 Go for it, I'll stay conservative Quote "Any man under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart, and any man over 30 who is not a conservative has no brains." — Winston Churchill
seabee Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Mario Dumont, once a very promising politician. has made too many wrong choices. He is now a "has been", though he is not even 40. Boisclair, around 40, now leader of the PQ, is much more attatcve to the ADQ's supporters. I've just watched the TVA news (viewship over 1 million, the most watched TV news in Québec, and they didn' even talk about it in one hour. The Mecqua disasater was more important. As I write, even CTV is not making a headline out of it. Quote
Black Dog Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Nice endorcement for Harper and the Conservatives.should add a few more votes. So the leader of a right-wing provincial political party endorses the leader of a right-wing federal political party and this somehow qualifies as news? And the ADQ has five whole seats? Wow. Colour me underwhelmed. Maybe the next hard-hitting expose will be on who Alberta Alliance leader and sole seat holder Randy Thorsteinson plans to cast his ballot for (not to play spoiler, but I suspect it'll be for teh Harper Cons. Shhhh.) Quote

OTOH, Dumont said in December 2005 he would vote for Harper so it's kind of old news.---- Dumont is not a Montreal politician. His support may swing the Beauce to the Conservatives. Quote
