About six-in-ten Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2022/06/13/about-six-in-ten-americans-say-abortion-should-be-legal-in-all-or-most-cases-2/ FOX NEWS POLL Fox News Poll: Two-thirds say abortion pill should be legal https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-two-thirds-say-abortion-pill-legal Gallop: Only 13% of Americans believe abortion should be illegal in all cases https://news.gallup.com/poll/1576/abortion.aspx Five Thirty-Eight: 85 to 90% of Americans believe Abortion should be legal in at least some circumstances. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-americans-really-think-about-abortion/ Sure makes you look pretty stupid, doesn't it? Yeah, it does. You don't know what you're talking about. LOL - beating you is always so easy So - if people think there should be restrictions, they're not entirely PRO CHOICE - are they. They believe there should be restrictions. SO - first off you pull an older poll from last year ignoring more recent polling. Like this one: https://news.gallup.com/poll/321143/americans-stand-abortion.aspx So the vast majority of americans want NO abortion or RESTRICTED abortion - which is precisely what i said. That's from may this year. And - A follow-up question asked of those taking the middle position finds 13% want abortion to be legal under most circumstances, while 36% favor it in only a few circumstances. The result is 47% of U.S adults favoring expansive abortion rights (legal in all or most cases) and 49% favoring more restrictive rights (legal in only a few or no cases). So the majority of people prefer extremely restricted rights - and of the remainder 36 percent still want there to be restrictions. SO no - not everyone is 'pro choice' - the majority are 'limited choice at best, just as i said. And the problem with the pew data is in the question "some or most" doesn't give people a clear question to answer, So if we want to look at opinions last year - lets look at a bunch of polls all at once. 538 can help us there: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/where-americans-stand-on-abortion-in-5-charts/ And they note - One of the most significant ways in which support for abortion varies depends on when in the pregnancy the abortion is perfomed. Polls have found that a large majority of Americans support abortion in the first trimester, but that support tends to drop in the second trimester. So - after the first trimester support falls off to well below half of the population - more like a quarter So once again I was right and you were wrong. People support very restricted abortion choices - they are not "pro choice" other than they'd like SOME choice, but not what we had before. Quote "That which doesn't kill me...
