What is it with needing to be where there's more people or to rush to where everyone else is headed??? I lived on the outskirts of NYC and grew up in the busy suburbs of Long Island but really enjoy living on my large piece of wilderness in Upstate NY now and not having to see anyone but my family unless I drive out of my 1/4 mile road.

I would look more at what is making them leave.

If I lived in NYC like many of my relatives, I would leave, too.

I have relatives in NJ, Virginia, Washington, California etc.

I'm pro business and pro jobs. Am also pro law and order.

Being anywhere that start to erode this and sell victimhood, would have me head to states where taxes are lower, and jobs are more abundant.

Same with my province. The moment it would become too woke, would be the moment I would be headed out the exits.

IE many groceries stores in some areas in my city, now employ many security guards.

The other day, I saw a woman eating grapes and spitting the seeds out, with no shame in her game.

Brazen thefts.

I get it, people are hard up on cash, but crime to me is crime. No exceptions.

Policies should be helping these people. My business isn't a non profit, so rob mine and would be pursuing things legally to the full extent of the law.

Same with being a landlord. Me and the wife are considering this. We would want to be somewhere we are just as protected as the tenant.

There is a spike in homelessness in my city, clearly upwards of 400% if not more.

I almost hit a man with my car this morning, who jumped in front, dressed in all black, making it impossible to see him until the last second, when my headlights made him visible on the dark street.

He then motioned for me to stop my car. I motioned for him to get out of the way.

I started turning, he got in front insisting I stop.

This is where I become heartless. Sorry for your situation, but I have to get to work.

I floored the gas and swerved around him at a speed, that forced him to respect my space, knowing he would get run over if he didn't. I wasn't going to stop.

He was a black male, and so am I. I was that aggressive, as he should know that's not how you approach a black male late night unless you want to get assaulted, shot or in this case, run over.

Don't get it twisted, I will happily hand out a 5$ bill or water and supplies to a homeless person.

But horrible policies are turning my part of the country slowly, into Vancouver.

This is what makes people leave. Am on the fence on just that. I can still run a business.

Once doing so is made too painful, or taxes are too high, I would leave too.

I don't care where people head to, but rather where the opportunity is. Are they tough on crime?

Taxes low?

Housing not crazy high? My wife could find work as easily as me?

Only thing I look at.

NYC population is increasing. Crime is down and one of the safest big cities in America. Home values (most people's biggest investment) is at record rates in NY and will always be way ahead of any southern ShangriLa. So you long winded caramelization of a theory is , well plane inaccurate

People keep having kids. This isn't a surprise.

Thats why high volumes of people left.

Good thing you're not a politician.

If am a politician and am seeing waves of people heading for states they feel are better than mine, or city, I would look into why.

Especially so, when many of those leaving have high salaries.

Not saying NYC is a horrible city.

Am saying that humility is a good thing.

My client tells me they are disappointed with my service, and I don't tell them good luck finding someone who will do what I do.

I use it as an opportunity to improve. Negative reviews can be seen at face value, or as incredibly valuable intel you are getting for free, to improve how you your business, of in NYC case, its city.

I side with politicians who unite, and want to get better.

Floridians do NOT want all these idi0ts from blue states to move here. The LAST thing this state needs is a bunch of ignorant, uneducated blue state nose pickers coming here, voting DemoNazi and turning this paradise into a shithole like Califagula. We want the idi0ts to stay put and fix what they broke.

answer is simple.. They think that if john doe is getting a job, buying a house, etc.. then that tells them that they could do so as well. John Doe must know something so why should they be left out.

I agree with the sentiment of wanting to live in a lightly populated place (but not too sparsely populated) place. Not having traffic, sirens, crime, etc. is nice. Growing up in Boise, the sentiment was that you needed to move to Portland or Seattle after high school. Quite a few did so and have led fine lives but I went the other route, Reno.

Too isolated. Too much opportunity for an escaped democrat coddled psychopath to break in and start his killing spree.
