politika Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 What has been known for a whole is secret CIA planes touching down in Canada, but what we didn't know was that they might be transfering Terror suspects to be tortured. But what I don' tunderstand is why we are investegating it, considering Paul Martin clearly said none of this was happaning Although if you watched the National last night if you listened and watched closely to Paul Martin when asked wheather any of this was happaning he stuttered a few times and had shifty eyes as he denyed it Are government obviously knows what is happaning and just wants to deny anything and prove to Canadians that they are doing somthing to stop it or they don't know and they aren't sure it's goiging on but they are investigating it any way there for contradicting them selves. This sounds fishy either way. Quote

dugger Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 So what if the CIA is/was/are landing planes in Canada. If so they are probably carrying terrorists to some other area to be interogated. Your comment about "terror suspects to be tortured"... so what? These are bad people who are garbage and whatever information they can give..through any means..is a good thing. Lots of noise about nothing. Quote

BHS Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 I can't believe this is a serious premise for a thread. Does anyone seriously believe a ) The US would pick Canada as a country to rendition terror suspects to for interogation/torture? b ) Paul Martin (who, let's remember, didn't know anything at all about the sponsorship scandal) would know anything about interogation/torture if it were happening here? I mean, really. Quote "And, representing the Slightly Silly Party, Mr. Kevin Phillips Bong." * * * "Er..no. Harper was elected because the people were sick of the other guys and wanted a change. theloniusfleabag Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Dear BHS, Does anyone seriously believea ) The US would pick Canada as a country to rendition terror suspects to for interogation/torture? b ) Paul Martin (who, let's remember, didn't know anything at all about the sponsorship scandal) would know anything about interogation/torture if it were happening here? I don't think the implication was that suspects were being tortured in Canada, merely that we are being used as a way-station for 'illegal actions'. Don't forget, the CIA has/had 'proprietaries' (or 'front businesses) that operate in Canada (such as Arrow Air..recall the Gander crash some years ago, where a CIA plane crashed and the US had the crash site bulldozed to hide any evidence of a bombing, while eyewitness reports reported a mid-air explosion) Quote Would the Special Olympics Committee disqualify kids born with flippers from the swimming events?
politika Posted December 7, 2005 Author Report Posted December 7, 2005 yes but if you have heard Paul Martins speech denying the allagations he stutered and slured his words. By the way the person who wanted proof of this, you should be watching the national it sbeen all over the news, but I think theirs somthing baout it on www.cbc.ca Quote

It doesn't surprise me that he'd stammer his way through a response to a question that caught him off guard. I haven't seen the footage though. Political footage hasn't really been worth watching since The Scream, and before that The Shawinagan Handshake. How do you surpass benchmarks like those?
