Guest eureka Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 August and Canuck! Does any of that contradicy anything I wrote. I know more about CSL than you will ever know since long ago I was the insurance underwriter for one of the companies that shared the insurance. I kept files on it and had every detail of its operations and the individual vessels. Quote
Charles Anthony Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 They will try to flaunt Gomery, but Adscam should have been a criminal investigation first and foremost. You are right. It seems like after flaunting Gomery the police have finally caught up to them: More sponsorship scandal charges possible Results of a Quebec provincial police investigation into Lafleur Communications, one of the advertising firms most deeply implicated in the affair, have been submitted to the Crown prosecutor's office in Montreal, says reporter Daniel Leblanc of The Globe and Mail in Nom de Code: MaChouette, an account of his lengthy investigation into the sponsorship affair. -SNIP- Lafleur Communications was headed by Jean Lafleur and was paid $37 million in fees by the federal government for handling sponsorship contracts, of which Lafleur and members of his family pocketed $12 million. While collecting sponsorship largesse they gave $67,000 to the federal Liberal party. Lafleur was notorious both for a faulty memory on the stand at the Gomery Commission inquiry, and for the lavish entertainments he laid on for Ottawa power brokers in his bid to land government contracts. fellowtraveller Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 The investigation into businesses associated with Adscam is all well and good but....what I'd like to see is some criminal investigation of Liberal riding associations, and some of the politicians. Did Lafleur and others ad agencies get all this public money just for giggles, were they selected randomly out of the Yellow Pages? Or were they conduits to the people who actually needed and received at least some of the money? Quote The government should do something.
Topaz Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 The scam by SOME LIbs is just that. Its NOT the whole party its members ALL from Quebec and I think people believe this province is full of corruption! NO one can say anything about the present seating Libs but it seems the Cons have their own problems and in question period, it surfaced today about monies apent on a trip to the US and the two guys didn't declare it or what they did there. Honest and open, yeah right! Quote
