Not trying to start a major argument or anything, but I would like to see what people think on who is going ot be the next leader of the country. So if you please just take the time to vote on that.

--Ooops sorry for those Liberal supporters out their, I spelled the word "liberal" in the poll wrong---

Sorry about that.

Interesting poll, a little odd though.

How so?

As the BQ runs candidates only in Québec they couldn't mathematically win enough seats to form a minority government, never mind a majority.

Not quite you can vote for them any where you are in this country. Although i know myself that they will never win a Federal Majority or Minority the rest of Canada still can vote for them. I just added them in the poll because I did not want to exclude any political parties from the vote and offend anyone who did support them.

What do you mean you can vote for them anywhere you are in the county? In an actual election you can only vote bloc in Québec because they only run candidates in Québec.

An answer to your question about not offendeing Green Party Supporters. I put in political parties that are big in Canada. I am not going to make a big list of the dozens of parties that exist in Canada like the Socialist Party and the Comunist Party of Canada.

Sorry my correction about the BQ I looked it up and I correct myself on it.

But could you guys just vote! Not ask questions!

Okay, done.

no questions, but I will make a comment (or 2, or 3 or..... :D )

As much as I dislike the idea, because I am not thrilled with how the Libs have behaved in the past several years, I still believe they'll get back in, but as a minority because too many people are also upset with them.

The reason for this is that the NDP have never done all that well, and there's no reason to believe they will make all that great a gain this time around.

The Conservatives have Harper, who simply doesn't "play" well to a lot of voters.

I don't think the Cons will get in this time, either.

Alas, I think it'll be Libs again.

But at least as a minority they'll have to play ball and not simply have their own way.

"You need to learn more about the parties that represent your country before making lists as you did on this poll. "

Just for the record I can list all the politcal parties in my country if you want and I know them all far to well. The POINT is Liberal, BQ, Conservative and NDP are the ones you hear about daily (whining, complaining and all threatning to bring down the government :P )

Where's the green party in all of this?

I stand by my statement

It is not a MAJOR party in Canada, and my list has all the major parties in Canada if you support green, CPC, Socialist Democrat, democratic Dominion and all those other parties than simply vote "other" Why spend time writing them all down? Make your own poll if you want to list every political party in Canada :P

The Green Party is relevent to a lot of people and are mentioned by the media as a party in their news stories because they did get 6% of the vote last time around.

They are behind the NDP in popular vote.

I can vote for the Greens, I can not vote for the PQ.

Your poll does not enable the Greens to become a minority or majority party on your list like the PQ on your list.

Placing them in "other" does not distinquish then from "other" parties or show potential influence they may have on the vote taken.

The Greens could very well cause government change even if they win only one seat.

True enough I could have put them in, But you statement "Placing them in "other" does not distinquish then from "other" parties" SO if I don't put all the other hundreds of parties in Canada in my poll I am not distinguishing them and showing potential influence?

True enough I could have put them in,

If ever the undeniable truth that the major reason for the huge spike in COPD around the globe is not tobacco but the air we breathe comes out, the Green Party will be the one to reckon with.

So you should have put them in. Just in case.

YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO OPTIMISTIC!

Shakyhands is right. He's exagerating that the country will be finished if Martin wins another election but we might as well be. The librals have now unvailed their plan to blow money out of the economic surplus they have. It's going to usless things like to the Chinese community, for some proposed day care services and other mindless programs that the public should have to pay for. The Liberals are like 10 years olds when ever they get a 10 dollar allowence at the end of the week they go and blow it on junk food and in this case the Liberals are just blowing it on junk.

In stead of all this crap they could be spending this money on are military that can't defend our North, or are country for that matter. (we have made plans to by military transport aircraft and if the government isn't going to spend a little bit more money on that guess where will by them from (An extreamly reliable country called Great Britain where their subs are the greatest  ) As well as spending a little bit of that to reduce the costs of a secondary education, paying are teachers more or better yet lowering Energy costs in some of our Provinces.

Conservitive minority.....but hoping for a majority. The Liberals get in again, our country is finished

This is a comment right out of the Karl Rove playbook... quick George, round up the religious right!!!!! We're FINISHED AS A COUNTRY IF Kerry wins!!!!

puuhhhlease.

I'm not into American politics and I'm not that relgious. Come spring there will be a record amount of bankrupties in western Canada. People out here are pointing their fingers directly at the Liberals and rightly so. The Liberals get in again the west won't want in anymore, they will want out.

If the Liberals get in again, they will be in power when Quebec holds its eventual referendum on seperating. The party that royally screwed up its attempt to keep Quebec in the fold and made things positively worse will be the on that the seperatists point to and rightly say, there is corruption and sleaze in Canada, let's not be a part of that any longer. It might well work. They came within a hair of a majority last time. If they leave, Canada will never be the same.

If the conservatives can be in power, they won't have that baggage and can say to Quebec, look, Canada threw the bums out, give us a chance. I know they are aware of the Quebec issue and have been studying it for years, rather than throwing money at it. They want to negotiate up front with Quebec, an honest approach can't be bad.

What planet are you on? The only possible explaination for a sudden and unexpected number of a bankruptcies will be high heating costs and high interest rates: both of which have little to do with the party in power. There may be a different situation in rural Canada in some parts of the prairies, however, that is not where the votes are. In the cities like Vancouver, the polls suggest the Liberals could pull 40-50% of the popular vote.

This is an argument that I do agree with and one of the big reasons why I will likely voting Conservative this time around.

I haven't seen any polls showing the Liberals that high in Vancouver. You got a source on that one?

Paper copy of my local paper says Liberals have 44% of the decided vote in BC (no online link). If you take into account the interior and the north is pretty solid conservative territory you will realize that the Libreal vote in the lower mainland would have to be above 45% to give 44% for the entire province. Poll could be pre-gomery though - it does say when the survey was taken.
