good read LONG ARTICLE

* HERES SNIPIT *

The great lesson of Yorktown in 1781, the final, decisive battle, was that even a great power like Imperial Britain really could not suppress the naturally-grown ambitions and desires of a people thousands of miles away, not without investing at a cost out of all proportion to the benefits, and not without becoming intensely disliked. This is a lesson that America, now grown strong and very arrogant in its strength, has utterly failed to learn.

I presume this is another dreary, self-righteous denunciation of the US in Iraq? What ambitions and desires are the Americans supressing there? The ambition to destroy each other in the name of God and the desire to slaughter their neighbours?

America, like the mighty british of the time ,fail to understand that no matter how mighty you are ,and so full of arrogance you are of your strength.

you cant add 6 trillion to your debt every 6 years

whos gona pay for 30 years of wtc destruction

to fight a war with those you cant see, or keep all the imperialist military basses in isreal, suadi arabia, iraq

just like the British back in the day, YOU are destined to fail.

another vietnam is unfolding that will keep you in the middle east for 10 years or more.

and the end result can only be more wmds reaching American soil.

indeed the first wave already struck their targets in downtown USA

america stands with the mexican border wide open

americas people will clutch duct tape and plastic and will duck and cover

before she removes the military bases and that arrogance will bring more WMDS

there will be 30 years of wmds in all probability more then that

just as with the british your arrogance cannot win the day you can not see your enemy

they stock you like a thief in the night

they are your armegidon

Yeah. Okay. But you didn't answer the question.

Ahh, I couldn't agree more: we didn't learn in Vietnam, and then we didn't learn in Korea, and now we're not minding our own business in Iraq. And now that N. Korea has nukes, aren't OUR faces red.

If that's what they are there for, they're doing a piss poor job of it.
