August1991 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I agree with the other thread in this category but I wanted to change the subject - and bring a new topic on top. I just discovered the "View New Posts" choice on the main screen. Does everyone else know about this? Am I the fool to declare publicly a discovery already known? Am I the clueless stock broker telling the month-old joke? (If you click on "View New Posts", you get a list of the latest debate action regardless of category.) I'll admit to being slow in learning but I think this public admission of my ignorance proves that I'm not wedded to a particular way of doing things. ---- Now then, the other thread? mirror Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Dear August, I just discovered that "View New Post" feature this week as well, and it saves us a lot of time. Superb. Thank you Greg and the people at MLW. Cheers, Quote
Guest eureka Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 And I thought I was computer illiterate! Only objection is that I still have to scroll backwards to view unread posts. Is there a way to "view unread posts? Certainly this is helpful. I just wonder if it is technically possible to take it a step further. Quote
mirror Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Black Dog also explained to me this week that if I view the profile of a member by clicking on a member's name, there is a feature in the profile options entitled "Ignore User". that is available by clicking on it as well. I tried it out a bit this week and am finding it quite useful. I recommend it and I'm sure some people will want to use it for me. Quote
Toro Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 What happens when you do that? Do you not see any of the member's posts? Quote "Canada is a country, not a sector. Remember that." - Howard Simons of Simons Research, giving advice to investors.
mirror Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Toro Try it. You can cancel it any time you wish. What you do see is the person's name and date and time but not her/his message. Works like a charm. Quote
Toro Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Okay, I'm going to block your posts mirror. (No offence!) Quote "Canada is a country, not a sector. Remember that." - Howard Simons of Simons Research, giving advice to investors.
