August1991 Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 (Just heard this. You can change names for current situation in Ottawa). Driver on 417 going from Ottawa to Montreal. Comes around bend and sees huge traffic jam. Cars at a full stop. Driver pulls up and stops behind next car. After awhile, a guy shows up at driver's window. Driver rolls it down and asks guy, "What's up?" Guy says, "Terrorists have taken Martin and Charest hostage in a limo up ahead and they've blocked the road. The terrorists are threatening to pour gasoline over the whole thing and light a match unless they get $5 million ransom." Guy continues, "So we're going around collecting donations." Driver looks at the other cars, pauses and then asks, "What are most people giving?" Guy answers, "Well, it depends. But most are donating between 5 and 10 litres." Quote

takeanumber Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Disgusting joke. How you can laugh about Canadians supporting terrorists-- burning ppl alive? I guess your memory doesn't stretch back to 1971, does it? Quote
Melanie_ Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Lighten up. There are lots of threads about serious topics here; a bit of fun is OK too. No one is really advocating burning people alive! Achiles Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Oh brother! If you cannot see humour in the above few posts then you must be humour deficient. It is ok to laugh at politicians and our government. Nobody is seriously thinking about lighting people on fire or carrying out terrorist attacks on our leaders. It's fine to poke fun at them because believe it or not they pay attention to our critisism... They understand when their people are displeased and for the most part they attempt to change what it is we are unhappy about. If it takes a "disgusting joke" to get people to understand and take notice than so be it. No one here is condoning the burning of live people, politician or not. Quote
