Students to Negotiate Final Grades

Is this the way of the future? One school in Ontario will experiment with this concept. I think that the public school system should just let students have 100% control of the system.

Students shouldn't be able to negotiate any final grade. Same with rating teachers schools should scrap that as well.

What's to negotiate?  4 months in a semester of doing work/assignments virtually every day to be graded plus final exam should be more than enough time & work to quantify a student's final grade.  Now we're letting kids talk themselves into a better grade?  Sounds stupid.

Yes, but education is pretty much run by overpaid eggheads - superintendents, consultants, etc. Read the jargon in the article I cite below. Then read the comments of normal citizens. Those running the system are disconnected from reality.
