Agriculture in Southern Ontario has been dependent upon seasonal migrant workers for tens of years. UP to the 1990's, it was the migrants from Quebec but has now been taken over by Jamaicans and Mexicans:

Without these migrant workers, either the agricultural system in Southern Ontario would fall apart or Canadian price for fruit and vegetables would increase by 50%.
