Layton said together the opposition leaders represent more Canadians than Martin's Liberal party does.

"Frankly he is actively preventing the view of a majority of Canadians from being expressed to the president," he said. "I don't think that's acceptable for a minority party leader."

Layton pointed out that all opposition leaders were invited to meet one-on-one with Mexican President Vicente Fox during his state visit to Ottawa last month -- without Liberal chaperones.

Layton has a valid point. This is more bullshit at the hands of control freak PM Martin

An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't.

We wouldn't want to insult Mr. Bush by saying bad things about him. Just smile and agree with him while he is here, then you can say all the things you want behind his back once he leaves.

And as I take man's last step from the surface, for now but we believe not too far into the future. I just like to say what I believe history will record that America's challenge on today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow. And as we leave the surface of Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came and god willing we shall return with peace and hope for all mankind. Godspeed the crew of Apollo 17.

He has been invited to the dinner; what more does he want?????? Bush is a little more of a security risk than was the Mexican President and his office would have input into who he will meet and where.

Do we have nothing but whiners here in Canada???????

Layton is not even the leader of the opposition. unfortunately.

Martin doesn't want the opposition to undermine him...Layton would only make an ass of himself and the country and Harper would agree with Bush more than Martin which would also be embarassing. It's better for Martin and Martin alone to speak for Canada.

I would rather Harper or Layton were PM, but they aren't and they can't expect to act as if they are.
