Topaz Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 The Ontario Liberals are putting Hydro One transmissions line sector up for sell and if this causes more financially hard times for Ontario customers, the Liberals could be wiped out in the next election. The only thing that could save them is that the GTA isn't serviced by Hydro One. Anyone know? http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/hydro-one-ipo-tsx-1.3304644 Quote

Anyone know? http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/hydro-one-ipo-tsx-1.3304644 No, Larger urban utilities have their own providers. That's not the point though. It seems the Liberals are selling off a revenue generating public asset for a short-termed influx of cash. Sort of like what the PCs did with the 407, and that wasn't popular. This government is abysmal. But people still seem to want to elect them because they believe fear tactics from Public Sector Unions. It does seem Patrick Brown, the new leader of the PCs is quite impressive. Quote
Ash74 Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 The only people I have seen defend this sale are on the Liberal government payroll. Sousa claims that the investments in infrastructure are not factored in to the report from the Financial Accountability Officer because he does not get to see the numbers. Now I think even the most die hard Liberal supporter must agree that the Ontario Government has had a really rough time telling the truth in such matters Quote “Show me a young Conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old Liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains.”― Winston S. Churchill There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him. –Robert Heinlein
Topaz Posted November 6, 2015 Author Report Posted November 6, 2015 I agree that when a government does something to peeve-off the voters, that government is voted out BUT again, most of the Liberal support was with the GTA and if they are not affected by the sale of the transmission lines, they will stay in power.
