Bryan Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 Wasn't it just seven years ago that the Tories were insisting anyone who entered a coalition with separatists was committing a political sin, even if the separatists' support was limited to confidence and supply? Politicians say a lot of things during a campaign. Whatever sticks. Quote
ToadBrother Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 Politicians say a lot of things during a campaign. Whatever sticks. So there's no lie so low that it isn't worth telling for short term political gain? Interesting. Quote
Evening Star Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) At least in 2008, the BQ seemed like a social democratic party who happened to have sovereigntist leanings but were primarily concerned with constructive policies that would benefit the country. At this point, they've basically gone over entirely to nationalism of the bigoted variety. Tory-BQ sounds like a nightmare. Seriously, I'd probably be OK with a Liberal-NDP coalition, if it meant the Liberals' approach to federalism, the Senate, and electoral reform and the NDP's approach to civil liberties and economic policy. Bryan Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 So there's no lie so low that it isn't worth telling for short term political gain? Interesting. It has worked so well for so long for the Liberals and NDP, why shouldn't the Conservatives get to have some of that fun too? Quote
