Big Blue Machine Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 I think the amible loser is the NDP, no offence. They try so hard to win, but they never get there. Like Charlie Brown, they played the federal politics game for 41 years and never improved. No offence to anyone. Though I tend to agree (in that the NDP are losers), you can't really have it both ways and ask NDPers to not take offence when you call their party "amible losers". Big Blue Machine Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 Right, I apoligize for these remarks, but I believe what I say is true. caesar Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 amiable The NDP do win in Provincial elections. They do not need to the party in control to have an effect on our country. If they get a leader with a little more charism; who knows what they can do. They have many great ideas; unfortunately, at this time I don't think we can afford all the programs they would like to bring in. I will be relieved when they regain the majority here in BC. Gordon Campbell is a disaster for all but his much wealthier friends. Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 But the federal NDP think they can win, which is sad. Jack Layton is insanely annoyingly optimstic. caesar Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 So did Harper; so what. That is what they are supposed to do. Show faith. The NDP will have lots of influence this time round. More than I will say for harper. He will be his usual pain in the butt. I have no problem offending Conservatives of this nature. Quote
Bakunin Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 maybe they need a leader from quebec hehe... it worked well for the liberal... Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 The NDP will never get a leader from quebec. chicklet78 Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 The NDP won approximately 17% of the popular vote this past election....I would expect losers to have a lot less support than that. Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 The base NDP vote is like 15%. They have never got more than 30% (correct if I'm wrong) in a federal election. caesar Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 The NDP will never get a leader from quebec. Wrong Blue; look where Jack Layton came from. hehe do a little research ... Jack Layton succeeded Alexa McDonough as NDP Leader in January 2003 at a conventionin ... Jack was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1950 and grew up in the small town ... Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 Ok, but they won't make gains at all in Quebec. Neal.F. Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 It is astonishing that the NDP doesn't mop up in Quebec. A party based on socialist trade unions, and radical social liberalism should win every time.... They have even affirmed Quebc's "Right to self-determination" yet people still don't flock to them, logically, Parti Quebecois members who would dabble in federal politics should be embracing them. It would even make more sense on startegic grounds too... Elect a bunch of wet noodles who are on the hook as having supported Quebec's right to "self determination, and you have a referendum cakewalk. The Federal government (If NDP) would not have a leg to stand on. Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted November 14, 2004 Author Report Posted November 14, 2004 The problem is the Bloc is just as socialistic as the NDP.
