Big Guy Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Help. I have finally connected a HDMI connection from my computer to our TV. Trying to prepare to share photos with other members of the family. I can change the TV settings so that I see on the TV what I should see on the computer monitor (have to disconnect one to use the other) but the TV picture shows way to the right - i.e. what appears on the center of the monitor screen appears half cut off on the left side of the TV screen. Just upgraded to Windows 10. Suggestions? Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.
TimG Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Suggestions?I had issues with my dual monitors when first installed Windows 10 (it was not detecting one of them). I eventually fixed it by updating the driver for my graphics card. If you aren't sure how you would "update graphics card driver" you should contact the place that sold you your computer. Quote
poochy Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 You may have to adjust the resolution on your computer to match the best resolution of your tv, for example, 1920x1080 for a 1080p tv, often the problem is the computer is out putting the resolution to the tv that was originally setup to work with it's monitor and it may not match the tv. I also had a driver issue. Windows may be able to detect and install the update for you. 1) Click the Windows (formerly Start) Button 2) In the 'search web and windows' bar at the bottom type Device Driver 3) Click on Update Device Drivers 4) Click on Display Adapter 5) Right-Click on your specific Display Adapter and select Update Driver Software Quote "Our lives begin to end the day we stay silent about the things that matter." - Martin Luther King Jr"Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities" - Voltaire

Just upgraded to Windows 10. Suggestions? Display settings .. You can clone the screen or extend. But your first mistake was installing Win 10. The installs have not gone smooth for those I know who have made the switch. Like any OS MS drops, driver compatibility is always going to be an issue. Mind you with the mistakes learned from Vista brought us 7. And before that ME got us XP. Don't forget to turn off all the data mining options. Quote
