On Guard for Thee Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Sorry, simply not true. Who can forget jackasses like Jason Moskovitz routinely being grossly ignorant to Oppostion MPs during the Chretien years? Cross Country checkup with call after carefullly screened call crapping on Reform? There are countless examples. And I never once heard a CBC reporter refer to it as "the Chretien Government". Of course, now they call it "The Harper Government" in an obvious attempt to make that a pejorative erm, which it is. Nope the CBC flatters those it thinks will butter their bread, and slams those who won't. No it was Harper who changed all the paperwork to read The Harper Government instead of the G of Canada. Talk about an ego trip! Quote

Mighty AC Posted January 28, 2015 Author Report Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) No it was Harper who changed all the paperwork to read The Harper Government instead of the G of Canada. Talk about an ego trip! Ego trip indeed! The Government Lobby of the House of Commons used to contain portraits of every PM. Harper removed them and filled the room with portraits of himself, in various poses and costumes. "You've got photos of Stephen Harper, but not of previous prime ministers," she added. "Photos of Stephen Harper in different costumes, in different settings, dressed as a fireman, in Hudson Bay looking for polar bears, meeting the Dalai Lama, even the portrait of the Queen had to have Stephen Harper, but in a candid, behind her." A press aide to Mr. Harper said he would get back with an explanation, but didn't. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=9c6b53f6-f0a2-4eca-93bb-559023144731 This Incubus song was written for Dubya, but it fits Steve-O well: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/incubus/megalomaniac.html Edited January 28, 2015 by Mighty AC Quote "Our lives begin to end the day we stay silent about the things that matter." - Martin Luther King Jr"Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities" - Voltaire
