Big Blue Machine Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Here is the link. http://www.davekopel.org/Terror/Fiftysix-D...renheit-911.htm This long article interested me. I have always known that Moore shows a slanted view. But this is different. And the funny thing is people believe him. Quote And as I take man's last step from the surface, for now but we believe not too far into the future. I just like to say what I believe history will record that America's challenge on today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow. And as we leave the surface of Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came and god willing we shall return with peace and hope for all mankind. Godspeed the crew of Apollo 17. Gene Cernan, the last man on the moon, December 1972.
Big Blue Machine Posted October 19, 2004 Author Report Posted October 19, 2004 Isn't anyone going to answer? kimmy Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I once read an analysis of Bowling For Columbine which really highlighted how far Moore is willing to go to bend the truth to convey his message; as a result I've had little interest in seeing Moore's films since then. -kimmy Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
Black Dog Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I just skimmed it, but the case it makes is pretty weak. It doesn't seem to target any actual factual errors, but makes it's case by nitpicking over semantics, as in this example: How did Bush win Florida? "Second, make sure the chairman of your campaign is also the vote count woman." Actually Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris (who was Bush's Florida co-chair, not "the chairman") was not the "vote count woman." Vote counting in Florida is performed by the election commissioners in each of Florida's counties. The Florida Secretary of State merely certifies the reported vote. The office does not count votes. It should be called "59 quibbles about Farenheit 9-11" Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted October 20, 2004 Author Report Posted October 20, 2004 Point taken, but for the most part I like the paper is good.
