Do you all agree with me that the most prestigious award that we honour our fellow earthlings with is the Nobel Peace Prize?

I mean what else could it possibly be?

How did it possibly come to be that such a progressive and social democratic society such as Sweden (you know the country that all right wingers love to trash), originated such a renowned and sought after prize?

Because the inventor of dynamite felt guilty.

The country may be "progressive" but it seems Mr. Nobel was ordinary in his sins. His jealousy of his wife's dalliance with a mathematician means there is no Nobel Math Prize. (But math has the prestigious Field Prize.)

The Nobel in Economics is recent and some claim not a Nobel Prize at all.

Why are the prizes given in Oslo?

What do we know about this fellow human being?

Without looking it up guess who won in 2002?

It might well be, but if they make a habit of giving it to people because they plant trees it might lose some of its lustre. Particularly if the people they give it to appear to be as stupid as this year's nominee.

Well... you certainly can't.

Do you even know who the latest nominee is?

If there is one thing I am sure of, it is that she will make a far larger positive contribution to our planet than you could possibly even dream of doing!

How will she do that, genius? By convincing Africans that AIDS was a disease created in western labs to kill Black people?

IMV, the Nobel Committee makes weird choices sometimes. It's their right.

They seem now to be on a continent kick with the Peace and Literature Prizes. They may even be doing it in alphabetical order. Africa, Asia, North America, South America... I'll bet an Asian man gets in next year.

Sure it is. But if the Nobel Peace Prize is to continue to be respected they ought to stop basing their nominations on political correctness.
