Not a big deal historically.....Canada and the UN watched 800,000 Rwandans die for lack of an intervention. General Dallaire wrote a book about it.

This is about Iraq and Al-queda. Let's try to stay on topic shall we? I know you can do it.

More and more it appears that Iraq will end up partitioned based on religion. The Kurds hold the far North, the Sunni are in control of the North and West and the Shia hold and will defend the South and Southeast.

It is ironic that in 2006, then Senator from Delaware, Joe Biden, declared a possible solution to the (impending at the time) escalating violence in Iraq;

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/23/AR2006082301419.html

Looks like the end solution, if it is political, will result in what Biden proposed.

Who wooda thought!?!

Hopefully the oil-poor Sunni belt won't have their hands out for subsidies.

It appears that nobody on this site had the intelligence to even question RT news. Screaming is not, is not, is only going to keep the US propaganda effort alive. And look at what that has brought us, especially in Iraq.

The US has proven that they are the scourge of the world in the 21st. century. The only argument that can even be attempted to disprove that now is trying to make it out as all in the name of humanitarian efforts.

Surely you're not still trying to flog this RT crap?

If Maliki invited Russia to come to Iraq and bomb Sunnis, would the US be pleased? Could such a thing ever happen? Would it cause Canadians to laugh and laugh until their bellies hurt from laughing?

Wait for it!

Naw couldn't be so good, must be RT crap!

Sweet dreams Americans and their lap dog Canadian apologists! What goes around is now coming around.

Funny how just a short while ago you were defending the Sunnis, now you sound like you're eagerly looking forward to the Russians bombing them.

Frankly a good end to this would be an old-fashioned free-for-all among the Russians, Shiites and Sunnis.

Yeah, wonder what hapenned there? And of course RT gets it wrong again. The US is reportedly flying around 30 recon missions/day over Iraq.

No, the whole ugly mess the US created sickens me. I'm just delighted to hear that Russia is being given an invitation to come into Iraq and fix things up. We must face the facts, the Iraqi people have such a deepseated hate for the US now that there's a possibility of Iraq turning to the Russian sphere of influence. Not to mention Iran, Syria, and a few others.

Ya gotta wonder why? And ya gotta wonder why some Canadians can't get their stuff together and figure out that they are taking the wrong side. I mean, it's just toooo obvious that the US just ain't the good guys anymore.

It'll come to ya all, in probably less than a couple of years, it's only calling for a swallowing of some pride and a little rising above your indoctrination.

LOL

Did your handlers tell you to say that? Or is it out of your head? Because RT didn't say otherwise?

Over 30 a day? Hmmmm, that's worth making a note of! Let's give that a month or so.

No, your American style bloodlust is not the order of the day. You only hope that your frustration over hearing the facts could be solved in that way.

Russia can probably handle in a bloodless manner, somewhat similar to how the Crimea was handled. Best of luck though!

Have I been too harsh with you? Have I charged you wrongly with hoping that more Iraqi people are slaughtered for your American cause. It's just that you seemed to have said it with a good amount of pride! I am also going to claim the high road on this one because it's really quite obvious that no decent person could actually wish for more slaughter of the innocent under US bombs. Right? Have I characterized you correctly this time?

Fwiw, I'll never lower myself to the level of human filth that would wish for more American to die in revenge attacks by Iraqi people who have lost 'their' loved ones to US slaughter. No matter how insulting and ugly they get, they don't deserve it, they only deserve to have the truth brought home to them and to have to live with their guilt for the rest of their lives.

Did you see a word where I advocated slaughter? I advocated a free-for-all, more like a brawl at the high school hockey rink.

I saw you advocating a free for all between the parties involved. The American solution is nearly always advocating violence and slaughter as long as it's not on US soil. But you know that what goes around, comes around sometimes in September. So why not try to make a more nuanced contribution to this forum than always hoping for a violent solution?

The house they fly airplanes into next September could be yours! Or it could be something a lot bigger than an airplane and ground zero will be a mile wide so your house would be insignificant.

In other words, be nice.

The US didn't create any mess. Religious extremism did.

I'm just delighted to hear that Russia is being given an invitation to come into Iraq and fix things up.

By bombing people, you mean? So if the US bombs someone it's evil but if Russia bombs them it's just 'fixing things up'. Have I got that right?

We must face the facts,

Certainly helpful for discussion purposes, but it requires knowledge of what the facts are, and you have not shown any particular degree of awareness here.

the Iraqi people have such a deepseated hate for the US now that there's a possibility of Iraq turning to the Russian sphere of influence. Not to mention Iran, Syria, and a few others.

And yet, the Iraqis have been calling for the US to bomb these people for some time now. I would think that you would approve of the US refusing to do so. Yet instead you seem to be decrying their lack of military involvement and trumpeting the fact the Iraqi government might isntead invite a brutal dictatorship to come in and bomb people instead.

It'll come to ya all, in probably less than a couple of years, it's only calling for a swallowing of some pride and a little rising above your indoctrination.

And a lobotomy, no doubt. Then perhaps I'd find your moonbat cites and laughably illogical opinions made some sort of sense.

Weren't you just making delighted sounds a few posts back at the prospect of Russia bombing the hell out of the Sunnis? Do you think that will be bloodless? Why is your Russian style bloodlust good thing but someone else's is horrible?

Funny how I don't remember any US 'slaughter'. A lot of people died in Iraq, of course, but, after the war, most of them were killed by attacks from insurgents, or between the Sunnis and Shiites.

No you didn't. You read what you mistakenly thought was delight over Russia bombing Sunnis. It was delight over Russia being asked by Maliki to protect the Iraqi people. Bombing people is not right if the Russians did it and it's not right when the US constantly keeps doing it. And of course, it's my delight over the fact that the US's puppet Maliki, who has gone bad, is asking Russia to come to Iraq when that was the US's main mission to prevent. Now there's a danger of Iraq being sympathetic to Russia and not the US! Such a waste of US military lives! And much more important, such a waste of money!

Oh, and try to remember that this isn't about me.

If you dislike the U.S. so much why not move to the Levant?

I'm bringing the crimes of the US to your attention because I want to continue to live in Canada, not in Antarctica where it's safe from radiation poisoning. If you dislike what I say so much then why not criticize it and stop referring to me in your arguments. You know you aren't going to get away with that so you'll have to keep hinting at how It's so frustrating.

I'm really of the opinion that the US is going to get nuked by freedom fighters if it doesn't start being nice. The problem is, they probably won't try to nuke some hillbillies in Mississippi or Arkansas, they'll try to do N.Y. or Seattle or some other big city close to our border.
