Guest
I can't imagine what this must have been like. 125MPH for an hour or more. Only Sandra Bullock could handle that. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/9867845/Every-drivers-worst-nightmare-Frenchman-forced-to-drive-at-125mph-after-brake-failure.html
GostHacked
Are people stupid?? Manual?? Hit the clutch until it slows down. Or throw it into neutral..... call the police????
Guest
It was specially adapted for disabled drivers. I don't know what those adaptations are, but apparently the police thought his only option was to keep going until he ran out of gas. They even had a Renault technician advising during the escapade. I'm sure if putting it into neutral was an option he would have mentioned it. Edited February 14, 2013 by bcsapper
Bonam
Neutral. E-brake. Ignition. Probably the guy just wanted to go for a high speed joyride and used car malfunction as his excuse. I'm sure plenty of people try telling the cop that when they get pulled over for speeding, and once in a while a cop buys it I guess. Sleipnir
Are people stupid?? Manual?? Hit the clutch until it slows down. Or throw it into neutral..... call the police???? The thing was jammed at 125 mph, and the person did call the police who then guided him/her for an hour at breakneck speed until the driver ran out of petrol. Edit: The guy ended up suffering two epileptic seizure... Edited February 14, 2013 by Sleipnir
The_Squid
Breaks didn't work AND the throttle was jammed open full? hmmmm.... unlikely.... although, it was a Renault....
