WWWTT Posted December 25, 2012 Report Posted December 25, 2012 Here we go again!?!? When will it end in the US?!?! Or better yet, when will it slow down? Is this the price the US has to pay for its citizens to bear the right to arms? I personally am sickened by the constant mass shootings down there. I want no part in the US,no desire to visit there,no attraction towards US culture, politics or foreign/domestic policy! I wonder how much people can really put up with??? Bonam Posted December 25, 2012 Report Posted December 25, 2012 (edited) The shooter was a mentally ill convicted murderer (he killed his own grandmother) who had been released from prison. WWWTT Posted December 25, 2012 Author Report Posted December 25, 2012 Yes I read this. I agree with you partially. Many people safely own firearms without incident. All over the world. WWWTT Posted December 25, 2012 Author Report Posted December 25, 2012 So why are you in a tizzy over this? Because the US was at one time a strong country. What the hell went wrong? Nothing has gone wrong. If you've been paying attention, homicides at at a 50 year low in the U.S.; at the low end of 100 years . It's still a strong country. It still has a strong sense of optimism. That you dwell on the negative doesn't change all the good. Quote

Guest American Woman Posted December 25, 2012 Report Posted December 25, 2012 (edited) Try saying that to the surviving members af the dead firemen! How are they any different from the dead in the days that you claim the U.S. was "the land of milk and honey,or just simply had a strong sense of optimism?" As I pointed out, homicides are at a low now. They were higher then. Edited December 25, 2012 by American Woman Quote

You are deluding yourself, as the products and services of the U.S. "participate" in your life on a regular basis. You can pretend that they don't, and I guess some Canadians do, but in the end no other two countries on this planet are so closely integrated. I think that you are telegraphing what I have suspected for a long time while here at MLW: Some Canadians are very uneasy at the prospect of a Canada on its own, without the social, economic and political relationship they have known all their lives. Just a mention of stopping or impeding cross border travel starts a panic. Edited December 25, 2012 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

The point is that you have no problem using these and many other aspects of the United States. Or what about the other countless products that we exchange?
