dre Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 When we read daily (it seems) of atrocity after atrocity in Syria and Darfur and throughout the Islamic 'spring', one wonders at the mentality of some of our 'human' co-existers on this planet can consider themselves as human..? http://www.brutallyh...ll-of-crap.html In syria a well armed and organized army is trying to overthrow the government using terrorist attacks. I assure you that if that happened in Canada or the US things would get every bit as brutal. Quote I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger
dre Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 And of course while the fighting is all the fault of the U.S., the fact that the U.S. played a big part in Israel agreeing to a cease fire is never mentioned. Guess we're never responsible for peace - as we are responsible for every act of violence that occurs. Actually US attempts to broker peace in the middle east get a whole lot of attention, including this most recent effort. As usually people are left wondering what the heck you are even talking about. The US Civil War was fought with honor and respect on both sides with but a few exceptions dealing mainly with the nature of the massive war itself. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

Bad comparison. In Syria the Alqeada affiliated FSA started staging terrorist attacks against the government, executing government supporters, not to mention any christians they came across. I guarantee you that if a group such as that Quote I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger

dre Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 Bad comparison? It's a fine comparison and you can't even finish a post. I did finish it, i dunno where it went. But yes its a horrible comparison. The south in the American civil war was nothing like the FSA, and I assure you that if the US government faced a credible threat from a terrorist organization to its own survival the gloves would come all the way off. bush_cheney2004 Posted November 23, 2012 Report Posted November 23, 2012 No need to bicker about what Americans would do, as there is a fine example in the not so recent past right at home in Canada (FLQ). Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

You can't prove your silly theory yet I provide historical examples...right. Next! Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
