Guest Peeves Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 Were they headed for Syria where they're REALLY needed? Nope, to aid the terrorist group of Hamas in Gaza. Misplaced concerns one might say. Anyway Israel exercised their right to stop and search. No harm done I guess. http://www.guardian....-israeli-forces Quote
DogOnPorch Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 This group, the Free Gaza Movement, has already been exposed as Holocaust denying Jew-baiters. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
Guest Peeves Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 Really? Now that's disturbing news Here I thought that position had been filled. I guess the others are poseurs or wannabes? Always room for more of the type I guess, has been for Millennium. Quote

jacee Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 It isn't true, though it was handled badly. The committee was reviewing a nasty propaganda film, and it got posted publicly instead of to the committee. But you two will believe what you want. Quote
jbg Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 Some people will always find reasons that what Israel does is wrong. They don't want Israel there in the first place. They stopped a bus, let the christians off and killed the yazidis. Hmmm ... Is it or isn't it? Quote

Anyone else completely unsurprised that a socialist like cybercoma reflexively using absurd anti-Israel rhetoric about non-existent "atrocities" and "starvation" in Gaza? Socialism and hating Israel seems to be a package deal. It's one of those things. You must take this scenario on faith because the reality on the ground looks much different. The last thing the Hamas supporters outside Gaza want you to see is independent assessments of what's actually happening. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

And some people will support Israel no matter what kind of horrific atrocities it commits because it's a Jewish state. Israel certainly has enough critics, I suspect an imbalance. Therefore I tend to give Israel supporters some leeway, and some critics, a jaundiced eye. If I err on that so sue me. Quote
Guest Peeves Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 I started thinking, " why does Israel have an embargo to Gaza". Then I read the news, 70 more rockets fired from Gaza into civilian Israel areas. Hmm, I thought. It seems other countries in the region, perhaps Syria and Iran for starters, were sending rockets and military equipt. parts, to Gaza. Then Gaza sent the assembled air bombs at Jews. So it's sort of logical. Stop rocketing Israel with imported weaponry. Stop loading ships bound for Gaza with weaponry, and wallah! No nee for any embargo. Cuba never had an embargo by the USA until Russia sent missiles to Cuba. Then, Bam! a USA embargo until the weapons were gone. Seems sensible. Seems lawful, seems logical. Hmm, the UN has an embargo against Iran! Why? Because there's a potential threat... Remove the threat and Poof! goes the Embargo. " The decision to impose an EU oil embargo on Iran, agreed on Monday by European foreign ministers, sets a potential bomb ticking, timed to detonate on 1 July. On that day, according to the package of measures on the table in Brussels, Europe will stop importing oil from Iran, about a fifth of the country's total exports. At about the same time, US sanctions targeted at the global financing of Iran's oil trade will also kick in. Iran could still export some of its oil to Asia, but at big discounts. Unlike previous sanctions on Iran, the oil embargo would hit almost all citizens and represent a threat to the regime. Tehran has long said such actions would represent a declaration of war, and there are legal experts in the west who agree." Embargoes exist legally over many things in several situations. Embargoes over wine, seal skins, etc. Why not one to stop rocket supplies when they end up being imported by Gaza and exported to kill civilians in Israel? I can think of no more justified or righteous use of an embargo, one that only the Gazans terrorists regime seems determined to continue. Stop those friggin flotilla fools sez I. Quote
