Tilter Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Yep this is another example of "Harper history"! Harper is big on "White British" contributions to Canada past. Not much so when it comes to non white contributors. WWWTT Yes--- he was up north where all those white people live---- he should visit an area where there are native  s Quote

Keepitsimple Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 The Franklin expedition was one of the most interesting, courageous and ultimately doomed missions ever undertaken. The search for a Northwest passage is being sought to this very day. Interestingly, Roald Amundson actually navigated the Northwest passage back in 1906. That mission has relevance to the debate on Climate Change as it proves that 100 years ago, arctic conditions were similar to today - a lessening of ice that permitted increased navigation. The Franklin mystery deserves attention. Those brave souls have been all but forgotten. Their quest was a grand vision that longs for a conclusion.
