It’s all you’ve got before the Big G gets out its machine guns and machetes to murder the portalised Google interface that has become the cornerstone of Google homepages for so many people on Planet Earth. Who knows, perhaps Google is just trying the old floating “trial balloon” trick to see what gets shot down, but while the other products that Google is set to kill don’t seem to have raised much of a ruckus, the impending death of iGoogle has sent users in a rage that may well encourage Microsoft to create an iBing home page portalised interface ASAP. Some will say Microsoft already has this with its MSN and NineMSN portals, but Google’s iGoogle was clean, efficient, widget enabled, RSS feed enabled and more – people love this simple system, and now Google, in some weird efficiency drive, is finding the voice Larry Page lost in a war cry against one of Google’s most genuinely popular offerings. iGoogle is great. You can customize RSS feeds on websites you enjoy and check your Gmail at the same time. Does anyone else have a similar RSS feed Home page to recommend. This move by Google simply doesn't make sense. Quote

I really like iGoogle -- are there any other alternatives? On your mobile device, Google Play offers applications ranging from games to news readers to home screen widgets. If you’re a fan of Google Chrome, the Chrome Web Store provides a similar range of options like productivity tools and applications to check the weather. In addition, just like iGoogle, you can personalize Chrome with a theme. Quote
Bonam Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Yeah this is a major misstep on Google's part. I'll likely continue to use it while it lasts. Quote

cybercoma Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 I used iGoogle for a couple months when it first came out, but I didn't really care for it. Quote
