bleeding heart
heres an article that parrots what leadin educators are teaching us at university. i'll bet you'll feel dumb after reading it. you are not in the field of education. i am. i know what the latest trends are. spelling, grammer, math facts..those stupid things are on the way out and educational researchers know it and public schools are going along with it. so there. this is my field of expertise pal. not yours. Rather than insult your grammar, I will point out to you that your grasp of grammatical rules is what makes understanding your very post here possible. So, obviously, you're dead wrong. And: "math facts"? Are you kidding me? Math is integral, crucial. We couldn't do away with it even if we wanted to. Which we don't.
bleeding heart
When I use profanity I feel I have let myself down. When others use it around me I feel I know exactly where they stand, they are a let down. As I grown older I find it uncool to use profanity, degrading words in everyday language - I am now a bit sensitive. I think profanity is a rich and integral part of language, and it has always been around. However, I do think that less is more.
socialist
the 10th plank of the communist manifesto states: Free education for all children in public schools. The abolition of child labour in factories; an educated child would be better for society in the long term, than a child not educated. Then Marx said: “The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother's care, shall be in state institutions.” Karl Marx has had a great influence on public education in North America. Most of us have been part of what he wanted. And I'll tell you people who don't believe me that things such as grammar, spelling, memorizing times tables and long division are on the way out. Ask any teacher.

Ask any teacher. If we cannot communicate properly how long do you think we will last as a civilization? Math is one of those important aspects of education that is used on a daily basis by a large portion of the population in such menial tasks as grocery shopping, paying of bills, and purchasing a coffee. Those who do not know basic math are doomed to failure. Knowing how to communicate with each other in a proper and understandable although in a basic way is imperative for the survival of any civilization, if you go to any high school or college/university and start writing essay lyk dis bekuz itz da nu way 2 type wil not get u any gud marks or even be taken serious. Any school that does not teach proper language skills be it english or french is failing its students, same goes for schools that ignore math and the sciences. Elementary and middle school should give you a basic foundation of the knowledge to be a productive member of society, high school should help you build up on what you have learned in elementary/middle school and also help children in the career choice, a school that does not teach english/french basics automatically excludes its students from some of the best and most prestigious jobs, add to that schools that don't have math or sciences and they(the students) are severely limited in their choice of employment for the future. socialist
"math facts"... (pausing to breath so I don't suffocate from extreme laughter) Pausing to breath or pausing to breathe? Looks like I'm not the only gramatically challenged person to grace this forum. At least I have a firm understanding of social justice and the environment. Most people can't grasp those concepts. It's than, not then. Don't criticize my spelling if you don't know the difference between than and then. BTW, no one on this forum knows more about environmental well being than me. I never said I was a great at spelling, just much much much better then you which unfortunately does not say much about my spelling or grammar. BTW, no one on this forum knows more about environmental well being than me. Sure... And social justice...I'm an expert.
