not if i become a teacher its when. i will say whatever i wish in front of my students. they need to hear the truth. as a teacher i will be a co-parent. bill ayers is one of north americas greatest educators. read some of his work and you will understand what the purpose of a teacher is. my students will leatn how big oil is destroyin their enviroment and many animals habitats. they bwill learn how the ndp looks after all people even the poor.

I'm not totally convinced, let's say, that these are all proper subjects for a public schoolteacher to be imparting. :)

Your opinions are one thing; "teaching" students is another.

i will encourage my students to tell me when there parents are doing stuff that is harmful to our mother earth. i will be building global citizens for the good of all mankind.

And what will you do when "there" parents are doing something harmful to "mother earth"? What exactly is your definition of a global citizen? And how do you and who are you to determine what is for "the good of all mankind"?

Probably intimate they might be sent to the "re-education camps" so they get a full understanding of what Karl Marx really wanted...

What does public education have to do with anything? You are not a teacher, and likely will never be a teacher at least not for long, once you are introduced to the real world you will rethink your whole life.

Practice teaching? Does that involve a mirror or something? And umm yes spelling does matter, that is if you want to get a respectable job. when feeling out your resume don't use proper spelling and just watch the offer NOT come in.

ho do you feel out a resume. actually talk to any educational researcher now and they will tell you spelling doesn't matter. talk to any public school teacher and see how often they correct a student's spelling. very rarely. kids don't even have to know their times tables anymore. public education is much better now than when you were in school doing memorizing stuff instead of actual learning. things have changed.

I graduated from High school several years ago, I have gone to both college and university, I don't know what third world institution you have attended but spelling is important especially if you would like to be a teacher. I hope to god that there is no institution stupid enough to hire a teacher who cannot spell... let alone a one like you.

go to any public school and ask the teachers how much they correct spelling when kids write? then get back to me. this isn't the 1950s anymore.

heres an article that parrots what leadin educators are teaching us at university. i'll bet you'll feel dumb after reading it. you are not in the field of education. i am. i know what the latest trends are. spelling, grammer, math facts..those stupid things are on the way out and educational researchers know it and public schools are going along with it. so there. this is my field of expertise pal. not yours.

That would make them bad teacher now won't it? I don't know what third world "university" you went to, but if my kid is "taught" by some joker who can't spell and doesn't find spelling important then Ill have words with the principle and I am certain most people feel the same way. Schools are meant to provide a well rounded education, remove teaching English from the curriculum and whats next? Math? Sciences? History? Geography? a few years down the road we will have illiterate kids who cannot do basic math, find Canada on the map, and do not know the most basic historical facts of the country they were born in. If you become a teacher god help us all, and if by some miracle you become a teacher and are hired, I think you could singlehandedly be responsible for making a generation of idiots.

i suggest you start to get familiar with elementary school curriculums. you'll see very little mention of rammar, spelling, vocabulary, and mat curriculums will tell you that memorizing basic facts are out as well.

you wont find long division or memory of times tables in curriculums either. they do not promote the 21st century skills that are now needed in public education. new math is now taught by a method called constructivist math. kids solve their own problems and learn their own ways. some university professors tried to tell public school educators that they don't teach math right anymore. these math professors just aren't up to date on ho young kids learn. you can decide for yourself but i believe in the new methods vecause my professors told me research proves them.

Good lucy with that, so your kids will be serving food for my kids... I have seen some people who cannot do some basic math or lack even the basic of linguistic skills, skills of a 5 year old child. You don't have a degree from any university institution, because I can guarantee you unless you bought your degree online you would know that English and math are not only important but down right a necessity in everyday life. You are close-minded sheltered child who has no math or English skills and your future has the phrase "would you like fries with that" written all over.

you are wrong. your insults have no effect on me. i am the new wave of teacher. the stuff that you thought was important isn't anymore. that's why these professors are wrong and why they haven't been able to make changes.

When I use profanity I feel I have let myself down. When others use it around me I feel I know exactly where they stand, they are a let down.

As I grown older I find it uncool to use profanity, degrading words in everyday language - I am now a bit sensitive. :(
