i read the communist manifesto. i learned a lot from it. our public school system in this country owes much of its success to the communist manifesto.

Okay so you have no points of your own all you have are assumptions and excuses. Basically you don't know anything about me so your "silver spooner" comment is just a childish diversion from a reality you can't answer, meanwhile the rest of your post is just a cop-out way of saying "even when I'm wrong I'm still right, because I say so."

I know one thing for sure, and without assumptions, this kind of non-answer won't fly with your supposed professor or any university worth its salt.

The Chinese aren't "Communist" anymore...

They have embraced a form of Capitalism under authoritarian means over the last 20 (or so) years because the top down leftism of the Soviet Union failed...

The issue is how this is being sold in "The West"...Many "leftist" co-opt China as thier pet project because they are under the midguided impression that they are carrying on the "Maoist" tradition...

They are not, at all...

This is now the embodiment of Mussolini's theories on corporate and public power...The embodiment of Fascism come to light...

Why else would many free market Capitalists be in favour of this form of government?...

The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

Communism or socialism? Pick one. They aren't interchangeable. The subject was communism and China, not socialism and Europe.

As a tourist or living there? Slight difference. I think Cuba is a paradise, for a tourist anyway, not so much for the people living there.

I was born in Bulgaria and lived through the consequences of communism, and I can tell you that its not all that its build up to be. And it was never the way it is portrayed in Books not even close to the paradise some people made it out to be.

I guess the real question is:

Who told you Communism is a good thing?..Your "nutty" professor?

The Chinese have eschewed your Leninist/Stalinist leanings under the theories of Mussolini's Italy or Franco's Spain...

Meet the new (authoritarian) boss..Same as the old boss...

Albania isn't that bad. Ever been to Belarus? Bulgaria? Slovakia? It's like 2 degrees above Mad Max times.

On the other hand the Vietnamese seem to be pretty happy. Poor but happy.

how dare you call my professor nutty. have you even stepped into a institution of higher learning. my professors helped shape my mind to fight for equal rights for all especially the disadvantaged.

your human geography knowledge seems to be thin. you need to read lots to understand the truth. otherwise you are just a robot preaching what they want you to preach.

I would disagree, if you want to visit the 1950's Albania is the place to go. Have you ever been to any of those places?

Nothing to do with Communism. Sofia's been a beautiful city for 1000 years and most of that beauty was religious inspired.
