Not all education is a right and it will never be free.

thats your opinion not 99% of canadians. i was part of the occupy protests. i know what it's like. i took university classes that taught me how we are not all equal in this country. you should try to better yourself and become educated on the issues that matter in this unequal country

And your opinion does not represent the Majority of Canadians either.

education is a right that should be free. the university system is controlled by greedy pis who only care about money while keeping a portion of the population as serfs forever.

So in a previous post you said that it was just someones opinion, the above is just your opinion, so why does it have to be believed or respected.

Can you provide a survey tha indicates 99% of Canadians think education should be free? Are these the same 99% that think the middle class is rich?

1% the rich

5% the lazy who whine and complain and terrorize

94% the people who work to pay the welfare for the the lazy 5%

if you make over 50 k you are rich. that is unfair when there are kids who wont be able to afford unresonable tuition.

you have no clue what canadians think. people like sid ryan know what is happening. sid ryan is a true leader. you probably don't even know who sid ryan is.

Sid's a good man and most definitely in tune with what Canadians are feeling.

You'll have to excuse the neo-fascist right wing though, they can feel their grip on power slipping with more and more Canadians standing up for our rights, democracy and freedom. Which is why they're pushing for Canada to become a police state...like say Germany in the early 40's

Back in the Cold War days, the CIA was asked to do a portrait of a country that might have a revolution. It decided that such a country would have three characteristics:

A big gap between rich and poor.

A middle class that was disappearing…or one that never existed in the first place.

A lot of people with a grudge.

Sounds a lot like Canada... ;)

Vive la révolution!

There are many...much more than you want to admit who are very much like me.

Feeling a bit paranoid are you....

More like scared, I don't know how the rest of us are going to pay for you and your comrades. You do not have the slightest idea how you will fund any of your insanely irresponsible ideas.

You're funny, almost as funny as Mr."Math-is-useless" Socialist over there. So you have a MINORITY of students who can't abide by a democratic rule and run out into the streets forcing their will through violence and you think it's the "other guys" who are fascists? I don't think you have a clue what democracy is or what fascism is or for that matter any thing about Germany in the early 40's (especially when it began in the late 30's). You should really pick up a book once in a while and maybe even read it.

Spoken like a child who has everything paid for them and doesn't work and hasn't the foggiest notion what things cost.

No. $50K is not rich,no remotely. Even $60-70k and you'll have a hard time buying a house. In fact that is one of the reasons I support the Occupy Wall street movement.

That's interesting and maybe a good discussion topic but unfortunately it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. The students aren't protesting for free education, they're protesting because of an increase in tuition that amounts to less than 1 of the 2-3 pints of beer they drink every day.

You'd be wise to read it yourself before making an ass out of yourself...

Clearly, you're clueless about the definition of fascism and I was referring more to Hitler's Germany during WWII which started in 39 and ended in 45.

Fascists spoke of creating a "new man" and a "new civilization" as part of their intention to transform society.[207] Mussolini promised a “social revolution” for “remaking” the Italian people.[208] Adolf Hitler promised to purge Germany of non-Aryan influences on society and to create a pure Aryan race through eugenics.

[edit]Indoctrination

Fascist states pursued policies of social indoctrination through propaganda in education and the media and regulation of the production of educational and media materials.[209][210] Education was designed to glorify the fascist movement and inform students of its historical and political importance to the nation. It attempted to purge ideas that were not consistent with the beliefs of the fascist movement and to teach students to be obedient to the state.[211] Therefore, fascism tends to be anti-intellectual.[212] The Nazis, in particular, despised intellectuals and university professors. Hitler declared them unreliable, useless, and even dangerous.[213] He said: "When I take a look at the intellectual classes we have – unfortunately, I suppose, they are necessary; otherwise one could one day, I don't know, exterminate them or something – but unfortunately they're necessary."[214]

Sounds just like Harper's Conservatives feelings about university professors, scientists etc...

Actually if you're honest it sounds like a lot of parties and more than a couple NGO's.

Fact is you're talking about a minority (the students) using violence because they don't like a democratic decision regardless of whether or not it's a provincial democratic decision or even a democratic decision among their own student councils/unions and then take to the streets to use violence and intimidation to get their way in spite of democratic rule. That's fascism.

Maybe you need to read from the beginning, you know before this century to realize that Mob Rule is the very worst form of fascist tyranny. Start with Plato and Socrates and finish with the "Reign of Terror" that came immediately after the French revolution.

Clearly, you're clueless about the definition of fascism and I was referring more to Hitler's Germany during WWII which started in 39 and ended in 45.

Nope. Clearly it's you that has a dime-store understanding of politics, fascism and democracy. Basically you have the ten-minute-wiki-read version and the regurgitation of a host of meaningless talking points you don't even understand yourself.

Um no. Hitler came to power when? '39? No. That's when WWII started. Try reading your wiki page over and over again until you get it, ok?

When we speak of Hitler and his fascism we have to start even before 1933 when he was appointed Chancellor.

Class dismissed.
