jacee Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) 10 movie errors ... ] Sometimes a lighter moment of tv/movie watching is interrupted by jarring discrepancies that destroy the 'suspension of disbelief' necessary to our artistic enjoyment. OK so maybe it's not earth shattering ... more of a hobby ... mistakes in authenticity in entertainment are ... entertaining . Edited April 26, 2012 by jacee Quote
fellowtraveller Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Numerous programs depict technology as if it was actually available. '24' did it all the time. Aside from a cell phone battery that could run indefinitely, Jack Baeuer had amazing info at his fingertips. He'd call HQ qith plans to assault a random building with bad guys inside. 5 seconds later the support team was emailing full building plans to his cellphone. Yeah, right...... GostHacked Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 Most shows have an unrealistic portrayal of technology. One CSI episode where they wanted to track a computer, and the lady responded with building a VB script to track the IP of the computer. Which is kind of laughable, because that is not how it is done. I can forgive sci-fi stuff that depicts future tech, because it's a lot of speculation and conceptual, but for any show depicting modern times and tech .. many have it wrong. Quote
kimmy Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Most shows have an unrealistic portrayal of technology. One CSI episode ... I think you could basically replace the phrase "One CSI episode" with "Any CSI episode" and leave it at that. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
