eyeball Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Key sections of the document referring to possible federal support for rail-related options are blacked out. Former Bank of Canada governor David Dodge has suggested the federal government should subsidize west-to-east crude pipelines, but Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver has said any such projects must be commercially viable on their own. Is that dissonance or just my tinnitus kicking it up a notch? Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal
TimG Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Is that dissonance or just my tinnitus kicking it up a notch? The stupidest thing a government could do now is say it will financially support any pipeline because if the industry thought there was government money to grab you can bet they would come up a cost analyses that claim government money is necessary. I am sure the industry will come up with the money to fund the east west line given the fact that that the lines to BC may be held up indefinitely. Quote

They wouldn't happen to do that in other industries.... like say for fighter jets, would they? Quote
