PIK Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 It is quite the tight rope, but nothing as slimy as chretien's non stop trips to china ,so him and his buddy maurice strong could set up thier retirement on our dime. Which is illegal. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

PIK Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 So when it comes to Human Rights and the all mighty dollar, both PM's, being Chretien, and Harper, have sold out Canadians values over corp. greed??? The chinese knows where harper stands and he took a stand ,something chretien never did. They respect toughness, chretien is the sellout. They respect toughness, chretien is the sellout. sorry, your uber partisan Conservative self has failed you... once again! under Chretien: Canada established its four-pillar policy on China: economic partnership; sustainable development; human rights, good governance and the rule of law; and peace and security. Under his leadership, China and Canada signed several bilateral relations agreements. Chretien led four "Team Canada" trade missions to China... resulting in a dramatic trade increase and setting the foundation that now positions China as Canada's second largest trading partner. so... in PIK world, Harper trade with China - good; Chretien trade with China - bad! Quote
bjre Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 so... in PIK world, Harper trade with China - good; Chretien trade with China - bad! For a minority gov, no one dare to trade with China, for fear of lost position, even it is profitable for Canadians. For a majority gov, each know it is time to take some Chinese dollars for Canada. Quote "The more laws, the less freedom" -- bjre "There are so many laws that nearly everybody breaks some, even when you just stay at home do nothing, the only question left is how thugs can use laws to attack you" -- bjre "If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny." -- Thomas Jefferson

All those trade missions that brough back how much, I remember them bragging about a mil here and mil there. But what he was doing was setting up his carbon credit business with maurice, who lives there and is visit by chretien many times since. During the mulroney trial ,the libs screamed how much work mulroney did ,dealing with the german on company time, which is illegal, but I guess it is OK when chretien was doing it. Have you ever supported anything you say - ever? as for what those initial Chretien trade missions accomplished... as I said, they achieved significant inroads, real measurable results and laid the foundation for today's positioning of China as Canada's second largest trading partner. If you care to dispute that with anything other than your partisan tripe... unsubstantiated partisan tripe... step up, hey? Quote
