In the NDP however the leader is bound to resolutions passed at conventions so you actually get to shape party policy. It is also why the NDP always has more directed policy then the Liberals. I was contacted by Topps campaign and was told something else. I should add that I am a member of the NDP and have paid my convention fee and will be voting for the next NDP leader.
