eyeball Posted September 26, 2011 Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 The ghost in the machine - driven by lesser spooks, a few doomed it seems to forever recall things gone by, bonds attenuating in one sense yet focusing ever brighter and hotly in another. Poor ghost...I think I can leave him behind before the next corner. The road winds on ahead of me and I can only imagine what'll catch up to me next... It poured, like I've never seen on Highway 4 today. Rivulets, creeks and rivers everywhere were at the boiling point and water was crossing the road in places unheard of in my own 39 years experience. I guess they did only build the road 7 years before I got there but still. I watched one guy who tried to pass me on a corner do a complete 180 today. Jack Weber Posted September 26, 2011 Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) Back in the Summer of '94,me and a couple of buddies were going to go to Chicago to catch some baseball games that Labour Day weekend.Saturday and Sunday at Comiskey Park to see the Yankees play the White Sox and Monday at Wrigley Field to see the Cubs and the Expos... Then the owners fabricated an impasse,shut down the season,and,ruined our vacay!!!! I still have the tickets though.... The road trip that never happened!!!!!
