I hope some people on this board thought Walking Dead was amazing. I watched the season and have read the first 6 or so Trade Paperbacks.

The new season looks like it'll stay sorta true to the comic but ad some new stuff. Shane going away with Andrea sorta spits in the face of the comic though.

I've never read them, but I watched the 1st season and really enjoyed it.

I've heard that the author works as a consultant, so is presumably ok with some of the changes. It's a different medium, so by definition there's got to be points of departure.

I only saw one episode of the first season. The only part I actually remember didn't pertain to zombies at all. One of the characters was a wife-beating red-neck, and when an uppity woman confronts him for his behavior, he's about to "teach her a lesson" too. One of the other men in the tribe, who had been having a really really bad day for reasons I don't recall, saw the altercation and came over and beat up the redneck. And he didn't just beat him up, he beat him so brutally that everyone nearby (as well as me, the viewer, a regular UFC watcher) was aghast at how merciless it was.

It was a really powerful scene.

But like many things that I see once and think it might be interesting enough to see again... I didn't see it again. It happens a lot.

Oh, yeah. There are countless movies that I've caught little portions of, maybe playing on television or something, and decide I'd really like to watch them. But never get around to it.

(I'm starting to truly doubt my own claim that "one of these days" I'm going to read War and Peace, too. :) )

I think buddy went off the rails on the wife-beater because he was upset that the woman he was having sex with has just been reunited with her husband, thought to be dead.
