jbg Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 But there are hundreds of thousands of Jewish people in Canada. It's the world's biggest Jewish population after Israel, the U.S., and France. Thanks. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? Sorry, bloodyminded, but I was really gobswaddled by your post and ran to Wiki to check, and you are right. I'm very surprised. Lived here all my life (and about to start getting OAP in two months), and have only ever known 4 jewish people. No doubt it depends on region; but sometimes chance, I guess: there aren't many Jewish people in Fredericton--a few hundred--but because of a couple of my parents' friends, I happen to know lots. I presume many people in this little city don't know any. (By the way, I think I quite like "gobswaddled." Pretty nice.) I still regularly e-mail several of them. Some things stick. I still tend to call waitresses "love". Molly Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 Wow. Small town Sask, and I grew up knowing more jewish folk than folks who shared my own ethnic background. My best school pal was jewish/favourite aunt converted. My house had those cute little plates on the door frames.... I'd expect 'political junkies' to be aware of the existence of Sid Spivak...
