cybercoma
They began the campaign with an app that was already pre-approved for the iPhone. Now the NDP has rolled out the website, http://imvotinglayton.ca and http://jevotelayton.ca for voters to show what party they voted for in the last election and announce why they're voting for the NDP. The greatest part is that it is integrated with Google maps, so you can see where in Canada this support is shifting. You've got to give it to the NDP; this is some of the most creative marketing of any campaign we have ever seen.

The commercials on youtube before you watch a video probably cost half of what a national ad would cost and they are the only ones on there. TimG
I don't see any useful information in that map since only NDP voters will bother to sign up. It is gimmick that will appeal to the choir.

They need the people who have already said they are going to vote for them to go vote just as much the undecideds. Ignoring your base is one of the worst things you can do, look at the Liberals right now. Heck G.W. Bush ran a whole election (2004) speaking only to his base and Won! TimG
That is who the NDP have to get out to win.You have a point. They now have a large database of NDP voters that they can email on election day.

Mr.Canada
I would vote NDP before I ever voted Liberal. At least the NDP is honest about what they intend to do. I can live with that. Edited April 22, 2011 by Mr.Canada
Topaz
Jack's ratings in the polls doesn't suprise me because I said on this forum before the elections, that Harper and Michael would be verbally destroying each other and the voters would start thinking, I'm sick of both parties, let see what Jack can do. It will depend on who the 18-25 voters support, the NDP or the Libs.
RNG
This is a great technique for engaging the younger demographic. The problem is that the younger demographic, by and large don't bother voting, and probably vote NDP anyway. Who was it that first said "Any twenty year old who isn't a socialist has no heart, but any thirty year old who isn't conservative has no brain."? (Or words to that effect.) Some say Churchill, but I don't think so. Edited April 22, 2011 by RNG
