They're probably happy that 4 Americans were killed, especially if they are white Americans. They'll probably make some excuse as to why the Muslims were justified to kill the Americans. wyly Posted February 23, 2011 Report Share Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) Looks like these Pirates have changed their tactics from simple kidnapping for ransom to all out murder! that makes absolutely no sense at all...there's no profit in killing hostages held for ransom,...and they were being shadowed at close range by a US destroyer...as long as the hostages remain alive the kidnappers are safe from attack, the moment they kill them they have no deterrent from attack and they came under attack and that's how it played out...these aren't suicide kidnappers these guys are in it for profit not getting killed...Maybe the rules of engagement should change as well to blowing these animals out of the water on sight with no exceptions. what I see as a simple solution is destroy every boat on the somalian coast bigger than a raft but I suppose there international laws against that..not that breaking international law was ever a deterrent for the usa...in this case there would be some mandatory international protest but behind closed doors every other country would support it... From what I understand, the pirates were shooting RPGs at the Navy skiff that was shadowing them prompting the Americans to take action and board the ship under fire. Two pirates were apparently shot dead. I assume the others surrendered. The hostages were found with inside, shot, and died of their wounds while getting medical attention.
