Is this a bad joke?

"Each of the seven people died in the line of duty."

Can you imagine?

Christening in the name of people who died while serving?

Did they run out of heros after the first two?

n November, the government announced two of the nine new ships, being built at the Halifax Shipyard and expected to enter service in 2013, would be named after two First World War soldiers who died: Cpl. Joseph Kaeble and Pte. James Robertson. Both were awarded the Victoria Cross for their bravery and sacrifice.

The other seven ships will bear the names of: RCMP Cpl. Gordon Teather, RCMP Const. Francois Carriere, Canadian Coast Guard officer Gregory Peddle, seaman Martin Charles, fisheries officer Agapit LeBlanc, and Canadian Forces members Cpl. Mark McLaren and Capt. Nichola Goddard, both of whom served in Afghanistan

How dare we remember.Lets just put all of them away and forget about what the did and gave for this country. Just like the soldiers of the medak pocket battle where chretien hid the news for 10 years, because he was embarressed that canadian soldiers had to kill the enemy that was trying to kill them. The left is so fucked up now, I wish they would STFU and quit nitpicking what harper is doing and show the country what you would do and let the people decide.

Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Just to clarify, are you calling me the 'left'?

I didn't say harper was the one who came up with the names.. did he?

I just find the premise of christening ships in the name of people who died while in service to be a little faux paux.

Why? Quite a few navies name some of their ships in this way.
