scouterjim Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 My shares have done nothing but earn me money throughout this entire recession. I am invested in a brewing company, and when times are tough, beer sales rise. Rising beer sales mean bigger profits. Bigger profits mean dividends on my shares. That all equals $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Quote I have captured the rare duct taped platypus.

While beer sales have grown, this is increasingly due to imports so that the dollar value of Canadian beer is stagnant.Although beer remained the alcoholic drink of choice in terms of both volume and dollar value, its dominance continued to decline as consumers turned more to wine.A decade ago, beer had a market share of 52% in terms of dollar value, compared with 23% for wine. By 2010, the market share for beer had declined to 46%, while wine accounted for 29%. StatCan Quote
