William Ashley Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) "The nearly billion-dollar site will be the new home to Canada's ultra secret security agency and is going to be built beside CSIS on Ogilvie Road" http://ottawa.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20101217/OTT_building_101217/20101217/?hub=OttawaHome The billion dollar price tag didn't really make me remark all too much, but the location and giving out all this information on Canada's super secret security agency - next to CSIS, is worth sharing. --- I'm stilla little shocked that the Union is saying that National Security is at risk of being contracted out, is this refering to the US - Canada border integreity partnership ??? Or something else.. I for some reason thought only 3 people were employed by the CSE... what is this article talking about? Edited December 18, 2010 by William Ashley Quote I was here.

Argus Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) The CSEC has over 1500 employees. More like 3000. And if I was one of them I'd be looking for a new union president, or a new union. CSEC has been jammed into a number of buildings and with the new expansion of its role - terrorism - all of them are highly overcrowded. MacLennan is an imbecile to draw allusions to the Taj Mahal as it plays right into the public's preconceptions about coddled public servants. Most of the costs are related to the high tech security and anti eavesdropping/bugging construction. They want some distance from the public, thus the additional land. The people who work for CSEC tend to be very highly skilled, highly educated, and in demand. They're also overworked and overstressed. So someone thought it might be a good idea to put in a few simple amenities for employees, perhaps to help them relax and to help ease turnover. And this moron bleats about the Taj Mahal. Are they going to have marble cubicles? Gold faucets in the bathrooms? Give me a break. Topaz Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Every time Harper shuts down Parliament they go a spending spree. They have spent 208 Mil. to buy the former Nortel Ottawa Campus for DND. So adding the two together here's another 1 Bil spent. I just wonder, do their supporters give as much to charties as the government takes from them? http://www.ottawacitizen.com/Public+Works+completes+208M+purchase+Nortel+Ottawa+campus/3995969/story.html Quote
