Jack Weber Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 You do realize that we are not talking about Six Nations of the Grand. Six Nations Haudenosaunee Confederacy is much bigger then that and encompasses a number of territories all over Ontario, Quebec, New York and other parts of the US including Oklahoma. Of course the discussion is mainly about Canada's fiduciary because the US separated. However, the Confederacy exists independent of Canada or the US...the latter recognizing they are separate sovereign nations.... BFD... How does this jive with your claim that most Canadians want a Rwanda-esque genocide vis a vis First Nations peoples??? Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
Saipan Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 How does this jive with your claim that most Canadians want a Rwanda-esque genocide vis a vis First Nations peoples??? Only Indian Chief Ahenakew would want something like that. And it's jibe (in agreement with) Quote

g_bambino Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 [W]hat I am saying is that there is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits First Nations to obtaining a recognition for rights to, or a recognition of previous rights of, sovereignty... I never said anything at all about achieving sovereignty. I said First Nations are not now sovereign. Quote
Shwa Posted November 8, 2010 Author Report Posted November 8, 2010 I never said anything at all about achieving sovereignty. I said First Nations are not now sovereign. Yes, I know you did. But there isn't anything in the Constitution that prevents First Nations from taking the position they are sovereign either. Quote
g_bambino Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Yes, I know you did. But there isn't anything in the Constitution that prevents First Nations from taking the position they are sovereign either. The Royal Proclamation of 1763 and the Constitution Act 1867 are at least two parts of the constitution that prevent First Nations from legitimately taking the position they are sovereign. Quote
charter.rights Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Yes, I know you did. And the fact is that their right as sovereign people exists now unless the government can prove it was removed from them. Six Nations says and can prove they never capitulated.
