William Ashley Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Baird announced the feds will match all private donations to Pakistan in addition to about $30 million Canada has already donated. My question is; why? Why should we be giving Pakistan any money at all? For that matter, why are we giving them tens of millions a year in foreign aid? This is a country which has nuclear weapons it seems able to pay for. It's a country with something like 700,000 active duty military personnel. It's a country which is massively corrupt on every level, starting with the prime minister's office. It's a country whose intelligence services largely created the Taliban and continue to support them. A country with 700,000 military personnel needs our help to take care of flood victims? Well that is 1 soilder for each 25 people affected, (17000000 people are currently said to be affected by the flooding that is 17 million - half of canada's population) but pakistan is also defending against internal insurrection / civil uprising, and a somewhat was ongoing war with a country 10 times their size. Perhaps some of those 700000 soilders are occupied with other issues. Edited August 27, 2010 by William Ashley Quote I was here.
