Things to note:

- the attack was unprovoked, a sudden ambush against officers overseeing a few bushes and trees being trimmed within internationally recognized Israeli territory along the border with Lebanon

- the positions of the Israelis killed in the attack were given to the Lebanese forces responsible for the attack by UN forces

- UN forces did nothing to stop the attack or, in the aftermath, find those responsible. What exactly are they doing there? Just sitting having lunch while the peace they are supposed to be keeping goes to hell?

- the article mentions that more and more of the Lebanese army is coming under the influence and control of Hezbollah

Where is the cry for an international investigation into this attack? Where is the condemnation by all our preachers for middle-east peace? Where are the calls for Lebanon to desist in its disproportionate violence (live fire is a disproportionate response to bush trimmers)?

I had a point by point reply, but when I tried to submit my internet pulled some bull about not being able to find the page. So screw it.

Yeah sucks when that happens.

Nasty when the world wide web gets evil....shake it off...the www....................does not mess with me because I understand that the electronic collective is utterly stupid....evil and stupidity are the same thing.

Isn't the national symbol of Lebanon a tree (Lebanese cedar)? When I first saw this story, I wondered if the tree being trimmed by the Israelis when they were fired upon might have been one of that type. Obviously that would in no way excuse the Lebanese response, but if true it seems to fill in a gap in the story.

Haha seriously? I guess I should get pissed next time some Americans want to cut down a maple tree near the border.
