Do you really expect someone on this forum to do up some kind of discounted cash flow analysis saying "yes" or "no"? Sure, it may be premature to get into this type of real estate. But if your time horizon is decades then being a year (or three) early will likely make little difference to the investment outcome anyway. Also keep in mind that the CPPIB's goal is a return of something like 4.1% over the next 6 decades. I doubt this investment will imperil that rate of return.
