capricorn Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Well I admit I am a man ,and I think Iggy made some real mistakes on this . He has come off sounding like a male bully picking on a women who has already been knocked down . The bullying of Guergis came to a crescendo when Ignatieff referred to her as "Mrs. Jaffer" in the House of Commons. His gaffe has made it into many media articles. This kind of stuff does not go down well with women. He must have been set straight afterward because on CTV's Question Period, in a comment he said "Mrs. Guergis" with emphasis, followed by a pause for effect. This did not undo the damage of his initial faux pas. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
Argus Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 So newspapers should ignore all allegations that aren't completely supported with facts? There's never be a story about anything criminal. Really? When was the last time you read the name of a suspect in a criminal case in a newspaper? The newspapers don't publish such material. They publish it when someone is charged. In this case, we don't even have a crime yet, just the possibility of some sort of violation of either law or ethics - nobody being quite sure which if either. Born Free Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 (edited) Perhaps someone can show us where a mainstream newspaper or TV news broadcast has ever said that Guergis is guilty of anything. Blogs dont count. What they are reporting is what they can find out re the Prime Ministers public notification that a minister of the crown has been tossed from the party under a cloud of suspicion on the basis that the RCMP has been called in to investigate. Scruitny by the press of an ousted minister is not an unrealistic expectation ... Edited April 19, 2010 by Born Free Quote

DrGreenthumb Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Ignatieff is such a goof. Ignatieff is such a goof. They would have been far better off with Bob Rae, or Justin Trudeau. Quote
Muddy Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 They would have been far better off with Bob Rae, or Justin Trudeau. Yep ! A failed Socialist Premier of Ontario and the Royal Heir Apparent who is as smart as a brand new manual, multi angle, swing press. Quote
