William Ashley Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) So with an election looming will leadership popularity win the NDP a few more seats? Layton has a 3 percentage point lead in approval rating while dissaproval rating is dramtically lower ... http://www.theglobeandmail.com/blogs/brian-topp/jack-layton-most-popular-federal-leader/article1474083/ Layton Approval 29% vs. Disapproval 34% Harper Approval 26% vs. Disapproval 51% This soon after the last polling on "trustworthiness" of leaders - harper was stated as getting an 85% trustworthiness (I didn't believe it but this is a very odd situation). Since Canada can often be a leadership race rather than a candidate race - this says some odd things when the party is polling at 20% 10 points under the CPC. Alta4ever Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 This is the best part of your angus reid poll http://www.visioncritical.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/2010.02.16_Politics_CAN.pdf Canadian Political Pulse - OUTCOME If a federal election takes place in 2010, which of these outcomes would you personally prefer? Its shows that in all regions but Quebec and Atlantic Canada people would prefer a Conservative Majority over minority, and they prefer the Conservative majority over either a liberal minority or majority. Although I do doubt the accuracy of the whole poll. Quote "What about the legitimacy of the democratic process, yeah, what about it?" Nanos is the most reliable pollster in Canada on politics. Quote "What about the legitimacy of the democratic process, yeah, what about it?" M.Dancer Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Nanos is the most reliable pollster in Canada on politics. Most pollster provide a realible product but the caveat is the offer a snap shot in time, a slice as it were....for instance most snapshots would show me with an extra 20lbs....buit occasionally the angle and light show me svelt and tall....the trick is not to put much faith in one snap...go with dozens...
